The Minnesota Wild lost 2-1 to the New York Islanders in Long Island Monday afternoon.  The Islanders scored 2 first period goals and Matt Cullen scored the lone Wild goal in the 3rd period.  Niklas Backstrom had 12 saves for the Wild.  Minnesota outshot New York 21-14.

The Wild are 1-1 and will play at Ottawa tonight at 6:30, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:05.
