Golden Gophers Basketball has officially bottomed out this season.

After beating North Carolina and West Virginia in the pre-season tournament, expectations soared as the fans were buzzing about the potential of the team. Three months later the team is the laughing stock of the Big Ten, as the loss to Northwestern puts the Gophers in 9th place in the conference.

All NCAA tournament hopes died last night, and it's a lock now that the Gophers will be hosting a home game in the first round of the NIT.

For the sake of salvaging something this year, I hope we get to see Al Nolen come back for postseason action just for the simple fact we might be watchable again.
