OMAHA, NE -- The SCSU men's hockey team dropped its second game of the weekend to the #12 Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks in Saturday night's 5-3 loss.

The Huskies' Jonny Brodzinski scored his nation-leading seventh power play goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the first period.

Judd Peterson then gave SCSU the lead with the first collegiate goal of his career.

Omaha battled back in the second period - scoring two goals and taking a 3-2 lead.

The Huskies were quick to tie the game again - this time with Jimmy Murray's second goal of the year.

Omaha retook the lead for good on a goal by Austin Ortega and scored again on an empty netter to win the game 5-3.

The loss drops the Huskies to 6-8-1 on the season.

SCSU is off until January 2nd when they host Quinnipiac.
