KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The St. Cloud State men's hockey team snapped a tough three-game losing streak with a 4-3 win against the Western Michigan Mustangs Friday night.

The win gives the Huskies their first since the beat the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers on Halloween night.

SCSU, who dropped to #15/16 in the rankings, faced a 1-0 deficit early before scoring four straight goals with David MorleyJoey BenikPatrick Russell, and Nathan Widman each finding the back of the net.

Leading 4-1 in the final period, Western Michigan made a comeback.

The Mustangs scored early in the final period with a goal by Kyle Novak and got within one after a goal by Sheldon Dries with two minutes remaining.

The Huskies were able to withstand the comeback attempt, winning 4-3 and improving to 5-5 on the season.

SCSU finishes the two-game series in Western Michigan tonight at 6:00 p.m.
