ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud State Huskies inched closer to getting back to .500 after a huge 3-2 win that completed a weekend sweep of the #5/6 Miami University (OH) RedHawks.

SCSU held a 2-0 lead after two first period goals - the first by Jonny Brodzinski and the second by Patrick Russell.

Miami cut the lead in half midway through the second period on a goal by Kevin Morris, but the Huskies answered back early in the third with a goal by Joe Rehkamp.

The RedHawks again cut the lead down to one midway through the period, but SCSU was able to hold on to their 3-2 lead for the remainder of the game.

The Huskies effectively shut down Miami and allowed only 19 shots on goal for the game - 17 of which SCSU goalie Rasmus Reijola saved.

The victory is a big one for the Huskies, who now improve to 9-10-1 on the season before taking on the University of Denver on Friday.
