Hollins Leads Gophers To Much-Needed Victory Over Illinois
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota guard Andre Hollins led the Golden Gophers to a much-needed win over Illinois Saturday - their second win in the Big Ten portion of their schedule.
Hollins scored a game-high 28 points - thanks in large part to Hollins hitting five of seven three-point shots.
Forward Mo Walker notched a double-double - scoring 12 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
Carlos Morris scored 16 points and Nate Mason added 10 off the bench.
After converting a paltry 9-of-19 free throws in Tuesday's loss to Nebraska, the Gophers were successful on 22 of their 29 free throw attempts today.
With the win, the Minnesota improves to 2-6 in the Big Ten and 13-8 overall. The Gophers will travel to Penn State for a game on Wednesday.
