Former SCSU Husky and Little Falls native Ben Hanowski could make his NHL debut tonight when the Calgary Flames host the Minnesota Wild at Scotiabank Saddledome (8 pm, AM 1390-The Fan).

Hanowski, traded last week by Pittsburgh in exchange for future Hall of Fame forward Jarome Iginla, scored 17 goals and 31 points this season for SCSU. He tallied 113 points in four seasons with the Huskies.

According to the Calgary Herald, Hanowski has joined the team but it is not clear if he will make his debut tonight against his hometown team:

“Well, I don’t know what’s going to be asked of me when I come up there,” said Hanowski. “But if I was able to make my NHL debut against the Minnesota Wild, I think it would add a little sweetener, to play your first game against the team you grew up cheering for. It would be pretty special.”
