Gophers Sweep Series Against Michigan With 4-1 Victory

MINNEAPOLIS – The #2 ranked Minnesota Gopher hockey team completed a weekend sweep at home against Michigan with a 4-1 win on Saturday night.

Michigan led off the scoring before the Gophers took control of the game. Andrew Sinelli scored to give the Wolverines a brief 1-0 lead.

Sam Warning would even the score for the Gophers later in the first with his 11th goal of the season. In the second period, Connor Reilly put Minnesota ahead 2-1 with his fifth goal of the year.

At 15:20 in the second, Nate Condon would make it 3-1 Gophers. Hudson Fasching would also score in the third period to make it 4-1.

Gopher goalie Adam Wilcox had a monster performance in the contest, making 28 saves for the win.

Minnesota improves to 21-4-5 overall and 10-2-2-0 in the Big Ten with the win. The Gophers will be at home again next week for a pair of games against Penn State.
