Gophers Must Stop Spartans’ Appling

The 18th ranked Gopher men's basketball team plays at #12 Michigan State Wednesday night at 6pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 5:30.  The Gophers beat Michigan State 76-63 on December 31.  Keith Appling led Michigan State with 15 points, 5 assists and 6 steals.

Appling represents the type of player the Gophers struggle against.  He's fast and can penetrate.  If Minnesota handles Michigan State's frontline like they did in the first meeting.  Michigan State seemingly has improved since the first meeting while the Gophers have lost 4 of their last 6 games.  Minnesota hasn't won at Michigan State since 1997.
