The Gopher basketball team lost 70-61 in Madison Square Garden in New York to St. John's Wednesday night.  Minnesota led by double figures in the first half including a 40-31 lead at halftime.  The Gophers were led in scoring by Nate Mason with 15 points and Carlos Morris had 11 points.  Minnesota leading scorer Andre Hollins was held to 9 points on 3-12 shooting.

The Gophers fall to 3-2 and will play Georgia in the NIT Tip-off 3rd place game Friday at 3:30pm.  Hear the game on AM 1390-the Fan.
