The Granite City Lumberjacks topped the North Iowa Bulls 3-2 Sunday afternoon to win the NA3HL's Silver Cup. The Jacks advance to the USA Hockey Tier 3 Junior National Championship starting Friday in Simsbury, Connecticut.

Jared Sprink gave the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead midway through the second period with a goal that was assisted by Mitchell Gwost and Michael Orke.

After goalie Jesse Garcia made a save on a penalty shot for the Lumberjacks, the Bulls broke through with a goal late in the period to tie the game at one. Shots on goal favored North Iowa 16-15 after two periods.

David Horsmann scored at 1:25 of the third period to make the score 2-1, and Travis Kothenbeutel notched the eventual game-winner at 15:35 of the third period.
