ST. CLOUD -- Former Twins baseball shortstop Greg Gagne threw the ceremonial first pitch at the home opener of the St. Cloud Rox game Friday night.

Gagne was traded to the Twins in 1982 after being drafted by the Yankees in 1979. He played with the Twins during both World Series Championships.

Gagne was on-hand during the ball game to sign autographs and meet fans. He says it has been awhile since he has thrown a pitch but he was excited to open the game.

About 2,000 people were out to watch the Rox take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats from Canada.

The Rox president and co-owner, Gary Posch says the fan turnout was good and a great way to start off the home opener.
