The Minnesota Wild earned their third straight victory with a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild are now one point ahead of the Colorado Avalanche in the race for the Western Conference's final playoff spot.

Erik Haula and Mikko Koivu each scored goals for Minnesota, and Devan Dubnyk made 38 saves for the Wild in the win.

Former St. Cloud State standout Nic Dowd made his NHL debut for the Kings after being called up Tuesday afternoon. Dowd played 12:15 of ice time, including just over a minute of power play time, and was a plus-one.

The Wild host the Calgary Flames at Xcel Energy Center Thursday night. The game can be heard on WJON beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
