Viking quarterback Brett Favre saw his consecutive games started streak end Monday night.

His sprained SC joint in his throwing shoulder bothered him too much for him to play against the Giants.  New York beat the Vikings 21-3 in Detroit.

The Vikings scored the first 3 points and then the Giants took control of the game and never let it go.

Tarvaris Jackson struggled for much of the night.  He was 15-30 passing for 118 yards with 1 interception.

Adrian Peterson ran for 26 yards on 14 carries and Sidney Rice had 5 catches for 60 yards.

Brandon Jacobs ran for 116 yards and a touchdown for the Giants and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for 103 yards and a score for New York.

The Vikings fall to 5-8 and are mathematically-eliminated from playoff contention.

Minnesota will play the Bears next Monday night at 7:30pm, pregame on WJON at 6:30.
