Expect Heat, Storm Threats On Friday

UNDATED - It will be hot and humid across the area on Friday with highs from around 90 to the middle 90s. Factor in the humidity and the heat index during the afternoon and evening will reach around 100 degrees from the Twin Cities on west and south.

As a result, a heat advisory is in effect from noon to 9 pm.

In addition, strong to severe thunderstorms may develop during the late afternoon across central Minnesota and head southeast through the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin during the evening.

Large hail and damaging winds are the main severe weather threats.
