The Vikings lost 12-10 in their 3rd preseason game to the San Diego Chargers Friday night.  The Chargers sat 18 players including starting quarterback Philip Rivers and top tight end Antonio Gates.  San Diego made 4 field goals including Nick Novak's 45-yard game-winner as time expired to win the game.

Christian Ponder and the first string Minnesota offense played into the 3rd quarter.  Ponder was 9-16 passing for 115 yards with no touchdowns and 1 interception, Toby Gerhart ran 6 times for 18 yards, Percy Harvin had 2 catches for 50 yards and Kyle Rudolph had 3 catches for 36 yards.

Sage Rosenfels threw a 4th quarter touchdown pass to Matt Asiata from the 1-yard line for the only Viking touchdown.  Kicker Blair Walsh was 1-2 on field goals.

The Vikings are 1-2 in preseason games and will play at Houston Thursday August 30 in the final preseaon game at 6pm, pregame on WJON at 5:00.
