The Cathedral baseball team topped Cloquet 12-4 Thursday afternoon to advance to the Class AA semifinal at Dick Putz Field. The Crusaders have won 23 games in a row this season and have won 48 in a row dating back to 2014.

The Lumberjacks scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning before Cathedral broke out the bats for ten unanswered runs. Dominic Austing picked up the win for the Crusaders, and Tommy Auger earned the save.

Jack Schramel and Nate Giambruno each had big games at the plate for CHS despite not having spectacular regular season statistics. The Crusaders will play against #5 seed Marshall Friday at noon on AM 1390 The Fan.
