Cathedral High School announced the hiring of a new boys hockey coach Monday afternoon. The school has hired former Luverne High School coach Derrick Brown.

Brown has coached the Cardinals for the past six seasons, where he posted a record of 122-36-5. He led Luverne to their first-ever state tournament appearance in 2014 and was named the Class A Coach of the Year.

Brown takes over for Eric Johnson, who stepped down from his post as CHS head coach after ten seasons at the helm.
