Cathedral scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th inning to beat Proctor 9-8 in 9 innings in the Class 2A state tournament semifinals at Dick Putz Field Friday afternoon.  Proctor scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning but couldn't pull out the win.  Brian Minks had 3 hits and 2 RBIs and Mike Kerber had 2 hits and 3 runs scored for the Crusaders.  Eric Pelant threw the final 1 2/3 innings to get the win.

Cathedral improves to 24-5 and will have a chance to defend their Class AA state title when they return to Target Field Monday to play Holy Family in the State title game at 3pm, hear the game on AM 1390-the Fan.
