The Tech-Apollo football game to be held at the new Tiger Stadium will be a United Coaches. The game will be the first at the new Tiger Stadium at the brand new Tech High School campus.

The St. Cloud Blue Sox will be assisting at a Miracle League game Tuesday September 3. The Blue Sox players will be helping with things like assisting the players around the bases, playing catch with the teams before the game, and encouraging the kids as they play ball.

The final score St. Francis 24 and Saint Cloud Apollo 31.

The Vikings rested their first-teamers and many of their 2nd-teamers in their final preseason game which turned out to be a 27-23 loss at Buffalo against the Bills.

The Gopher football scored a 4th quarter touchdown to beat visiting South Dakota State 28-21 Thursday night at TCF Bank Stadium. Mohammed Ibrahim scored the go-ahead touchdown with 5:39 remaining.

Apollo has a new Activities Director, Jared Ellerson has been hired for the job and started his new position this week. Ellerson comes to Apollo from Osseo High School where he was an Administrative Assistant.

Cathedral girls soccer downed Detroit Lakes 3-1 Tuesday. Caroline O'Driscoll had 2 goals for the Crusaders.

The Vikings released veteran cornerback Bene Benwikere and receiver Jordan Taylor. Benwikere is a 27-year old veteran who spent 3 seasons with Carolina, 1 with Dallas and split last season with Oakland and Arizona. The 26-year old Taylor spend the last 2 seasons with the Denver Broncos.

The Minnesota Wild have hired former Pittsburgh Penguins Assistant General Manager Bill Guerin as their new General Manager. Guerin won 2 title with the Penguins as a player and 2 more in the front office with Pittsburgh.
