He says after the Wild dominated and led 2-0 after the first period last night Vegas asserted itself and controlled both the 2nd and 3rd periods to get the win.

He says the Twins have so many problems right now that there isn't a simple fix. Jim says injuries, bad starting and relief pitching, struggles from Miguel Sano, Max Kepler, Kenta Maeda and J.A. Happ are just some of the problems.

He says the Twins pitching just isn't good whether it be starting pitchers not going deep into games or relief pitchers not holding leads or just giving up runs.

The exclusive negotiation timeline expired for the Alex Rodriguez led group to buy the Timberwolves. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says a group led by former NBA player Arron Afflalo could try and fill the void. Souhan says he doesn't have detailed knowledge of the negotiations involving Afflalo and Wolves owner Glen Taylor but says Afflado could possibly buy the team.

The Timberwolves are 21-47 entering tonight's game at Detroit against the Pistons at 6 p.m., pregame on AM 1390/93.9 FM Granite City Sports at 5:30. Jim says the new Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch is a "cut above" former head coach Ryan Saunders.

He says the Wolves, unlike many other teams with a similar win/loss record, are trying to win and gain some momentum for the 2021-2022 season.

The Twins are 0-7 in extra inning games this season. Jim says baseball managers can have an impact on close games but not in the same way coaches of football have on their entire staff.
