N.Y. Giants 26 — San Francisco 3

The Giants intercepted 49ers' quarterback Alex Smith three times, as New York dominated San Francisco, 26-3, in San Francisco on Sunday. Antrel Rolle picked off two passes and Prince Amukamara snagged a third for the Giants (4-2) in a rematch of teams that played in last season's NFC title game. San Francisco (4-2) was unable to generate any points after David Akers' first quarter field goal.

Vikings’ Griffen Loses Mother Suddenly

Viking defensive end Everson Griffen missed practice Thursday after he was informed of the sudden death of his mother. Coach Leslie Fraizer said Thursday that police arrived at the team's headquarters on Wednesday to inform Griffen of the news. The details of Griffen's mother's death were not immediately known. Sabrina Scott has been visiting her son in Eden Prairie when she suddenly died Wednesday.

Rob Bironas kicked a 40-yard field goal as time expired, and the Tennessee Titans beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 26-23, on Thursday night in Nashville.Bironas' kick, his fourth field goal of the game, came after Steelers' kicker Shaun Suisham had a 54-yard attempt fall short with 49 seconds remaining.

Vikings’ Simpson Should Play Sunday at Washington

The Vikings got some good news on receiver Jerome Simpson Wednesday and he's now expected to play at Washington Sunday. Simpson doesn't need surgery for the back problem that caused weakness and numbness in his lower left leg. He played sparingly against Tennessee because of the injury on Sunday. Viking head coach Leslie Frazier says "all indications are" that Simpson will be fine to face Washington Sunday.

NFL 2012 Season — Week Six Preview

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans — 8:20 P.M. EST

Pittsburgh (2-2) sends the league's fifth-ranked defense to face a Titans' team which will once again start Matt Hasselbeck in place of injured Jake Locker at quarterback. Tennessee (1-4) has committed 10 turnovers so far this season. The Steelers' running game was much improved with the return of Rashard Mendenhall. Pittsburgh could put up big numbers against a Titans' defense that has allowed a league-high 181 points.

Monday Night Football: Texans Beat Jets, 23-17, to Stay Undefeated

Arian Foster ran for 152 yards and a touchdown, and the Houston Texans beat the New York Jets, 23-17, in East Rutherford, N.J. on Monday night. Kareem Jackson intercepted Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez with 1:51 left to preserve the victory for Houston (5-0). The Texans and the Atlanta Falcons are the NFL's only remaining unbeaten teams.

Vikes’ Frazier is Concerned About Simpson’s Health

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier spoke to the media today and expressed concern over Jerome Simpson's pregame injury to his ankle and that they will do a MRI today to determine the severity of it. The Vikings improved to 4-1 after a 30-7 win at home against the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon. Percy Harvin ran for a touchdown in the first half and had 8 catches for 108 yards including a 2nd half touchdown catch. Adrian Peterson ran for 88 yards on 17 carries and had 3 catches for 15 yards. Christian Ponder threw for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. The 2 interceptions for Ponder are his first 2 of the season.

Drew Brees threw a touchdown pass in his 48th straight game to break Johnny Unitas' 52-year-old NFL record, and the New Orleans Saints beat the San Diego Chargers, 31-24, in New Orleans on Sunday night. New Orleans (1-4) recorded its first victory of the 2012 season by coming from behind after San Diego (3-2) led, 24-14, early in the second half.
