The Timberwolves introduced Chris Finch as their new head coach at a news conference Monday. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. Jim says Finch worked with Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gerson Rosas in Houston.

The Timberwolves' first game under their new head coach will be Tuesday night against the Bucks in Milwaukee. The game can be heard on AM 1240 and FM 95.3 WJON.

The Minnesota Timberwolves failed to close out yet another game in the final quarter on Friday, resulting in an 86-81 loss to the Toronto Raptors.

Former Twins 2nd baseball Brian Dozier announced his retirement from baseball at the age of 33 Thursday. Dozier played 7 seasons for the Twins and hit 167 homeruns. Jim says Dozier came up as a short stop with some power and ability to hit for power and turned himself into a pull power hitter and gold glove 2nd baseman.

The Timberwolves lost 134-128 in overtime Wednesday night despite a 3-point shot at the end of regulation that rimmed out for rookie first overall pick Anthony Edwards that would have won the game. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today.

The Timberwolves will look to get back on track when they host the Toronto Raptors at Target Center on Friday night. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. on AM 1240 and FM 95.3 WJON.

The Minnesota Wild returned to games for the first time in 2 weeks after postponing 6 games due to Covid-19 protocols. The Wild lost 4-0 at Los Angeles against the Kings Tuesday night. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Wild looked a bit rusty and are still playing short handed with 5 regulars not in the lineup due to Covid-19.

The Timberwolves posted a 116-112 win over the Toronto Raptors in Toronto Sunday night. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan says when Karl-Anthony Towns has played this season the Wolves have looked like a capable team. Towns has played just 7 games this season due to injury and time spent on the Covid-19 list.

The Wolves are 7-20 on the season and 5.5 games out of the tenth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
