The St. Cloud State men's hockey team will introduce their new head coach Friday afternoon during a press conference at the Husky Den. The coach will be the third in the Division I era for the program.

I think if the situation was handled differently, fans may have a different perspective on his exit. Perhaps if more time had passed between the tourney loss and his taking the job, there wouldn't be such a foul stench left behind.

St. Cloud State junior forward Mikey Eyssimont signed a 2-year entry level contract with the Los Angeles Kings organization yesterday. He led the Huskies with 17 goals and 22 assists in 39 games this season.

Days after getting bounced out of the NCAA Tournament, SCSU men's hockey coach Bob Motzko has announced his resignation in order to become the next coach of the Minnesota Gophers.

Jackson Goplen's three-run home run in the top of the 13th inning sent SCSU to the win in game one. Mitch Mallek finished 3-5 in the win for the Huskies, while Sauk Rapids native Matt Meyer added a pair of hits.

The top-ranked and top-seeded St. Cloud State hockey team was upset 4-1 by Air Force in the opening game of the NCAA Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota Saturday afternoon. The Huskies' season ends with a record of 25-9-6.

The Huskies will play in the Frozen Faceoff tournament at Xcel Energy Center this weekend, beginning Friday with a game against North Dakota. Puck drop is set for 4:00 p.m. on FM 96.7 The River.

St. Cloud State junior defenseman Jimmy Schuldt has been named a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker award. The Hobey Baker award is given to the top Division I college hockey player each year.
