October 6, 2012 St. John's football is still winless in the MIAC after losing 48-17 at Augsburg Saturday afternoon. The loss is the 4th straight for St. John's. St. John's trailed 21-10 at halftime and it only got worse in the 2nd half. Nick Martin threw for 110 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and he ran 23 yards and 1 touchdown for the Johnnies. Three quarterback appeared in the game for St. John's with Martin starting.
October 4, 2012 The St. John's football team looks to end a 3-game losing streak when they play at Augsburg in Minneapolis on Saturday at 1pm. The Johnnies are 0-3 in the MIAC and 2-3 overall. St. John's will play this week and next week without starting quarterback Connor Bruns. Bruns could return after St. John's bye week to play against Gustavus on October 27. Freshman Nick Martin will get the start at quarterback again this week.
October 3, 2012 The St. Cloud State football team is 3-2 after pulling off a stunning 51-49 upset win over then 2nd ranked Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday. The Huskies are back on track and remain in contention to make the playoffs if they can run the table. SCSU's schedule was front loaded with tough opponents and has eased up a bit.

September 29, 2012 The St. Cloud State football team scored a touchdown on the final play of the game when quarterback Phil Klaphake found Michael Walker in the flat at the 3-yard and Walker dove in to score the game-winner as the clock ran out. SCSU wins 51-49 over 2nd ranked Minnesota-Duluth. Klaphake threw for more than 400 yards in leading the Huskies from behind.
September 29, 2012 The Gophers lost their Big Ten football opener 31-13 Saturday afternoon in Iowa City. Minnesota trailed 24-0 at halftime and never threatened to make it a game. Iowa outgained Minnesota 374 to 299 and the Gophers committed 4 turnovers compared to 0 for Iowa. Max Shortell threw for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions and he was the leading Gopher rusher with 46 yards.
September 27, 2012 St. John's will start freshman Nick Martin at quarterback Saturday when they host St. Olaf for homecoming at 1pm. Martin is a 6'3 195 pound pocket passer from Plymouth and Wayzata High School. He was 6-8 passing for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns in relief of Connor Bruns and John Ries Saturday at Concordia-Moorhead.

September 23, 2012 The St. Cloud State football team won 24-19 at Wayne State Saturday afternoon. The game was tied at 10 at halftime and scored 14 points in the 3rd quarter and held on to win. Michael Walker ran for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Huskies. Phil Klaphake threw for 222 yards and ran for 40 yards for SCSU.
