Gophers’ Kill Returns To Practice

Gopher football coach Jerry Kill has returned to practice just 3 days after checking himself into the Mayo Clinic to seek treatment for his seizures. Kill told reporters after practice that Minnesota hired him to turn the program around and that he can't do that if he's not here.

Gophers’ Kill Headed Back To The Hospital

Gopher football head coach Jerry Kill will be readmitted to the hospital today after suffering another seizure Sunday morning. Kill's assistant coaches say he's in good condition but will be admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for further testing.

SCSU Football Loses At Winona State

The St. Cloud State Football team suffered their first loss of the year 29-16 at Winona State Saturday night. SCSU led 16-12 at halftime and were outscored by Winona State 17-0 in the 2nd half. Phil Klaphake threw for 205 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for a team-best 77 yards. Michael Walker led the Huskies with 52 yards receiving on 5 catches with a touchdown.

Johnnies Beat Cobbers In Overtime

The St. John's Football team defeated Concordia-Moorhead 28-21 in overtime Saturday afternoon in Moorhead. Brent Graboski caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from John Ries in overtime to win the game. St. John's led 21-10 at halftime before Concordia made their comeback. John Ries threw for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns and Nick Schneider ran for 95 yards for the Johnnies. Graboski led the Johnnies with 6 catches for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Gopher Football Wins First Game For Kill

The Gopher football team defeated Miami-Ohio 29-23 Saturday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium. The win gives new head coach Jerry Kill his first win with the Gophers. He suffered a seizure last Saturday near the end of the game in the loss to New Mexico State. Marguis Gray threw for 163 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 171 yards to lead the Gophers. Donnell Kirkland ran for 55 yards and a touchdown and Malcolm Moulton had 4 catches for 72 yards.

Gophers’ Kill Released From Hospital

The Gopher football team welcomed back head coach Jerry Kill Thursday. He was released from the hospital and attended practice Thursday. He had a seizure near the end of the game last week at home against New Mexico State. The Gophers host Miami-Ohio this Saturday at 2:30, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 1:30. Kill is expected to coach the team Saturday.

Assistants Expect Kill To Coach

Gopher football assistant coaches Matt Limegrover and Tracy Claeys both expect head coach Jerry Kill to coach the team from the sidelines this Saturday. Kill suffered a seizure near the end of the Gopher loss to New Mexico last Saturday. He has been recovering but did not attend the press conference yesterday.

Gophers’ Kill Improving

Gopher head football coach Jerry Kill is improving but remains hospitalized after suffering a seizure Saturday afternoon in the final seconds of the Gopher football game against New Mexico State. Gopher team physician Pat Smith says all tests have come back normal and no further testing will continue as necessary. Kill could be released from the hospital as early as today.
