Maturi Resigns As U of M Athletic Director
The University of Minnesota looking for new Athletic Director after Joel Maturi resigned Thursday after 10 years on the job. Maturi is now 67 years old and said he found the job and the 12-14 hour days to be too physically demanding at his age. Maturi did not have any NCAA violations during his time with the Gophers and was the man who hired football coaches Tim Brewster and Jerry Kill and men's basketball coach Tubby Smith.
SCSU Football Signs 21 To National Letters of Intent
The St. Cloud State football team announced the signing of 21 players to National Letters of intent Wednesday on College Football National Signing Day. Gopher Football Expect To Sign 21 Today
The Gopher football team expects to sign 21 players to National Letters of Intent today on College Football National Signing day. Among the 21 players, 17 are considered 3-star recruits according to rivals.com. The Gophers are already signed 8 players including 3-star quarterback Philip Nelson from Mankato West.

Former Penn State coach Joe Paterno, the all-time leader in college football history who was involved in the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State, has died at age 85 of lung cancer.
