March 20, 2012 The Gopher men's basketball team won at Miami (Florida) in the 2nd round of the NIT Monday night. Minnesota went out to a 12-0 lead and never trailed. Rodney Williams led the Gophers with 21 points and both Andre Hollins and Joe Coleman each scored 14 for Minnesota. The Gophers shot 58 percent from the field while Miami shot 34 percent.
For the first time in the history of the NCAA basketball tournament, two No. 2 seeds — Duke and Missouri — were upset by No. 15 seeds on Friday. March 15, 2012 The Gopher men's basketball team won their first round NIT game 70-61 at La Salle in Philadelphia Wednesday night. Minnesota rallied in the 2nd half and shot 52 percent from the field. La Salle shot 47 percent. The Gophers were led by Rodney Williams with 21 points, Austin Hollins had 16 points and Andre Hollins had 13 points.
March 14, 2012 The South Dakota State Jackrabbbits play in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament Thursday night at 6:27pm in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the #14 seed in the South Region against 3rd seeded Baylor. The top scorer for South Dakota State is junior guard Nate Wolters, a St. Cloud Tech graduate.

March 12, 2012 The St. Cloud State men's basketball team lost 76-64 to 13th ranked Metro State Sunday night in the 2nd round of the NCAA Division II tournament in Golden, Colorado. The Huskies played without starting center Tim Bergstrasser and were outrebounded 39-23. Theo Rothstein led the Huskies with 15 points and Brett Putz added 9.
