Gopher Basketball Advances In NIT

The Gopher men's basketball team won at Miami (Florida) in the 2nd round of the NIT Monday night. Minnesota went out to a 12-0 lead and never trailed. Rodney Williams led the Gophers with 21 points and both Andre Hollins and Joe Coleman each scored 14 for Minnesota. The Gophers shot 58 percent from the field while Miami shot 34 percent.

The Gopher men's basketball team won their first round NIT game 70-61 at La Salle in Philadelphia Wednesday night. Minnesota rallied in the 2nd half and shot 52 percent from the field.
