NLCS Game 1

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-4 in game 1 of the National League Championship series Sunday night.  David Freese and Carlos Beltran each hit 2-run homeruns for the Cardinals.  The Giants made a comeback with 4 runs in the 4th inning.  Game 2 of the NLCS will take place tonight in San Francisco at 7pm (CT).  Ryan Vogelsong will start on the mound for the Giants and Chris Carpenter gets the ball for the Cardinals.

ALCS Game 2

The Detroit Tigers took a 2 games to none series lead over the New York Yankees by winning game 2 of the ALCS.  Annibal Sanchez threw 7 shutout innings with 7 strikeouts to get the win.  Miguel Cabrera was 2-4 with 1 RBI for the Tigers.  The Yankees are playing without shortstop and captain Derek Jeter.  Jeter broke his ankle in game 1 of the series on Saturday night.  Game 3 of the series will be in Detroit starting at 7pm.  Righthander Justin Verlander will get the start on the mound for the Tigers and righthander Phil Hughes toes the rubber for the Yankees.
