BISMARCK, N.D. -- The St. Cloud State men's and women's basketball teams each collected big wins over the University of Mary Friday night.

TRIO OF HUSKIES LEAD SCSU MEN TO VICTORY

Three Huskies scored at least 25 points in SCSU's 96-88 victory over the University of Mary last night.

Scottie Stone led the Huskies with 29 points on an efficient scoring night - hitting on eight of his 15 shots, including six of 10 from three-point range.

Jordan Poydras scored 27 and Donnell Cegers added 25 points as the trio of Huskies combined to shoot 25-of-43 from the field for 81 of the team's 96 points.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 11-8 on the season and will continue their tour of North Dakota colleges tonight against Minot State.

SCSU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WINS 75-66

A big second half by the St. Cloud State women's basketball team led to their 11th win of the season.

The Huskies outscored the University of Mary 41-28 in the second half en route to a nine-point victory.

Karissa LeCaptain led the way for the Huskies, scoring 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting.  Carley Jeffery and Chelsea Nooker each scored 12 points and Betsy McDonald added 11.

Lexy Petermann provided an important rebounding presence - finishing with a game-high 15 boards.

The win improves the Huskies' record to 11-6 for the season and SCSU will look for their 12th win tonight against Minot State.
