Blue Sox Have Success In Gopher State Tourney

The 12AAA St. Cloud Blue Sox lost 6-4 to Plyouth-Wayzata in the championship game of the Gopher State tournament in Inver Grove Heights Sunday.  The Blue Sox were 5-1 in the tournament.  The 12AAA team will play either Blaine or St. Michael-Albertville Wednesday for the GSBL state championship.

The St. Cloud Blue Sox youth baseball organization had some success in the Gopher State Tournament over the weekend.  The 10AAA team lost to Burnsville 4-3 in the state quarterfinals and finished 3-1 in the tournament.  The 10AAA tourney was held in Plymouth.

The 11AAA St. Cloud Blue Sox settled for consolation runners-up after losing to Brooklyn Park 8-4 in the consolation finals of the Gopher State Tournament.  They finished 4-2 for the tournament. The tournament was held in Eden Prairie.  The 11AAA team will play in a USSSA Global World Series in Aurora, Colorado this week.
