College Football 2012 – Week One Recap
After an off-season filled with scandal and controversy, seeing college football back on the field was a welcome sight. While early season games for Top 25 teams often feature blowouts of lesser opponents (and we certainly had several of those), this week we were also treated to a pair of matchups between Top 25 teams as well as some outstanding individual efforts. Some questions were answered, other teams now have even more. Here is a recap of all the action in the Top 25 this weekend.

UCLA Football Upsets Oregon –Too Bad the Season Hasn’t Started
If you read it on the Internet, it must be true, right?
UCLA fans across the country certainly wish that were the case as thousands of news outlets are now reporting that the Bruins “stunned” #5 Oregon, 21-20 on a last-minute touchdown pass from quarterback Bob Jones. Unfortunately, however, there are a couple of teeny, tiny problems with the story. Just some minor details like the facts that the game never happened and that Bob Jones doesn’t exist.

Alabama Dominates LSU, 21-0, To Win BCS National Championship
Second-ranked Alabama avenged its only loss of the season in a big way, shutting out #1 LSU, 21-0, in the Allstate BCS Championship Game Monday night.
Alabama’s defense, which came into the game ranked first nationally in virtually every major category, showed just why it deserves to be national champions, holding the Tigers to just 92 total yards and five first downs while pitching the first shutout in BCS title game history.

Oregon running back LaMichael James has earned his spot as one of the best football players in America due to his willingness to run around the football field while large, angry men bent on his destruction chase him around the field. So you can imagine the fun that ensued when it was discovered that James was afraid of a little thing like roller coasters.
