The NHL certainly hasn't lost its fight: San Jose Sharks defenseman Jason Demers was trying to punch Dallas Stars center Steve Ott when linesmen Brian Mach jumped between the two of them in an attempt to break up the fight.
For doing his job, the official got a knuckle sandwich right in the jaw. The incident took place on Saturday, and so far the NHL has declined to take action against Demers for the ref-slugging, which did appear to be completely accidental. Only in hockey.

The Twins Winter Caravan cruised into St. Cloud last night. Over 400 people packed the Paramount Theater to rub elbows with Twins President Dave St. Peter, Assistant General Manager Rob Antony, former Twin Jack Morris, prospects Kyle Gibson and Joe Benson and broadcaster Kris Atteberry.
