Study Reveals Head Trauma May Increase Likelihood of Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s disease has long been a medical mystery, but new research may point to at least one cause for the debilitating condition.

After a study involving 300,000 veterans aged 55 and up, scientists at the University of California-San Francisco learned that older people who’ve experienced a traumatic brain injury — or TBI — during their lives have more than twice the risk of developing dementia.

Tennis player Bethanie Mattek-Sands, the self-proclaimed Lady Gaga of the women’s tour, wowed spectators at Wimbledon when she showed up in a jacket adorned with fringe, studs, and tennis ball-halves.

The brainchild of British designer (and Gaga fashion collaborator) Alex Noble, the jacket even adheres to Wimbledon’s all-white rule for court attire. Mattek-Sands didn’t actually wear it to play, but rest assured, she did make quite an entrance.

Tiger Woods To Miss Another Tournament Due To Injuries

Tiger Woods, who in recent months has slipped to a number 17 ranking in the world, says injuries to his left leg sustained during the Masters will make him miss next week’s AT&T National tournament at Aronomink near Philadelphia.

Woods hasn’t finished a tourney since tying for fourth place at the Masters in April, where hitting from an awkward stance in pine straw on the 17th hole injured his left knee and Achilles tendon.
