It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds, as the Twins can be as good as their health allows them to be. If they stay healthy, they could finish in the upper end of the division. But if they endure a lot of injuries again then they will once again be near the bottom. We can only wait and see what happens.
With spring training well under way and the start of the season just over a week away, I am going to take a look at the position players that figure to get key playing time this season. Each player will have a question associated with them involving some sort of a number, whether it is homeruns, games played or something along those lines. I will then either take over that number or under, and will defend my reasoning behind each choice.
Coming into the season, one of the many questions the Wolves faced was what new coach Rick Adelman would be able to do with such a young team. Other than franchise player Kevin Love, the rest of the roster was full of uncertainty.
In the next installment of “Rebuilding the Vikings”, we take a look at the running back position. This may be one of the few spots on the team that is set, other than the injury concerns with Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart.
This edition of “Rebuilding the Twins” will focus on who I think will be on the Twins Opening Day roster. With Spring Training set to start in a few days, it won’t be too long before the roster will start to take shape. A lot of the pieces are already in place, with just a few key spots up for grabs.
At the beginning of the season, the Wolves were using Darko Milicic as their starting center. But due to his lack of effectiveness and ability to pile up fouls in small amounts of minutes, backup center Nikola Pekovic was given an opportunity to start.
