Sartell cross country athlete Blake Anderson has been running since he was a child, inspired by a family of runners including his mom and dad.

Anderson recently led the Sabres to a 12th place finish at the Milaca Mega Meet September 21st. Anderson's time of 16:33.3 was the ninth-fastest in Class AAA.

The senior runner says he enjoys being a part of the Sartell program, which he describes as "like a family."

Anderson says that right now his focus is on the Sabres' cross country and track seasons, but he admits he would like to run in the future as a college athlete.

The fact that running is an individual sport appeals to Anderson, as he says you can easily measure progress against your past performances.

The Sartell-St. Stephen track team is back in action on Thursday, September 26th at Fergus Falls.
