The Twins completed a 3-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians at the Metrodome Sunday afternoon
winning 4-3. Minnesota scored 3 runs in the 7th inning to overtake starter Cliff Lee and Cleveland. Nick Punto had an RBI single before Denard Span drew a bases loaded walk and Carlos Gomez drove in the go-ahead run with a groundout to 3rd. Glen Perkins threw 7 innings with 7 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 5-2. Joe Nathan pitched the 9th inning to get his 25th save. The Twins improve to 50-38 and remain 1 game back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central. Minnesota is just 1/2 game back of the Red Sox for the American League wildcard lead. The Twins start a 3-game series and 7-game road tonight at Boston at 6:05, pregame on WJON at 5:35.
