1390 The Fan Sports News


The Minnesota Wild signed veteran forward Owen Nolan to a 2-year $5.5 million contract.  Nolan is a 36-year old whose played for 6 NHL franchises.  Last season with Calgary the 36-year old had 16 goals and 16 assists.  He's a 6'1 215 pound tough forward.  Nolan said the Wild aggressively pursued him.  Minnesota also signed free agent goaltender Barry Brust to a 2-year contract and right wing Jesse Schultz to a 1-year contract.  Brust adds to the Minnesota Wild depth at goalie and Schultz is the cousin of Wild defenseman, Nick Schultz.
