1390 The Fan Sports News


The St. Cloud River Bats completed a 2-game sweep of the Express in Eau Claire Saturday night winning 6-4.  St. Cloud fell behind 4-0 but scored 6 unanswered runs including 3 in the 9th inning to pick up the win.  Derek McCallum fought off an ankle injury to lead the team with 4 hits and 2 runs scored and both Dan Betteridge and Kevin Johnson each added 2 hits for St. Cloud.  Preston was 1-3 with 2 RBIs.  Kurtis Frymier threw 2 scoreless, hitless innings of relief to earn the win and improve to 3-0 this summer. Xavier Exquivel threw the 9th inning to grab his 7th save.  St. Cloud improves to 2-0 in the 2nd half of the season and 20-15 overall.  The Bats are off today and will host Battle Creek at 1:05 Monday afternoon, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 12:35.
