1390 The Fan Sports News


The Twins rallied for 5 runs in the 6th inning and overtook Cleveland 9-6 Saturday night at the Metrodome in the 2nd game of the 3-game series.  Alexi Casilla had a 2-run double and Brendan Harris added a 2-run single in the inning.  Joe Mauer led the Twins at the plate going 1-2 with a solo homerun and 3 runs scored.  He had 3 walks in the game.  Alexi Casilla, Craig Monroe and Brendan Harris each drove in 2 runs.  Kevin Slowey threw the first 6 innings with 5 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 6-6 on the year.  The Twins are 49-38 and remain just 1 game back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host Cleveland again today at 1:10, pregame on WJON at 12:40.  Lefthander Glen Perkins pitches for the Twins and lefthander Cliff Lee toes the rubber for Cleveland.
