The 2015 season for the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles baseball team came to an end Friday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to the Moorhead Spuds in section playoffs.

The Eagles scored the games first run when Cole Johnson drove in Mike Tiede. Zech Klindt was the starting pitcher for the Spuds and other then his hiccup in the second inning, he was nearly perfect through five innings.

Moorhead took the lead when Apollo committed an error which continued the inning and the Spuds took advantage with a 2-1 lead. Klindt would eventually be removed in the bottom of the sixth, but the righthander went 5.1 innings giving up two hits and stuck out two.

In the top of the seventh the Spuds would get a couple of insurance runs with an RBI groundout and an infield single to pad their lead. Apollo put runners at first and second in the bottom half, but the Eagles were not able to drive in a run. Apollo will graduate nine seniors in 2015; Brett Peterson, Jason Omann, Cooper Gray, Ben Nelson, Justin Barg, Ben Alvord, Hinter Blommer, Jack Atkinson, Aaron Bible.
