A late goal by Minnesota cut the Badgers' lead to one, but Wisconsin held on for a 3-2 win at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Wisco's Kevin Schulze got the Badgers on the board at 13:03 of the second period after a scoreless opening frame. Badgers defenseman John Ramage scored his fifth goal of the season at 14:13 to give Wisconsin a 2-0 lead, then Sean Little scored at 16:22 to give UW a 3-0 lead at the second intermission.

The Gophers got third period goals from Seth Ambroz at 2:36 and Zach Budish at 18:18 to cut the Wisconsin lead to 3-2, but that was as close as the Gophers would get to victory.

After this weekend’s action, St. Cloud State remains in first place in the WCHA at 15-6-1, one point ahead of Nebraska-Omaha, two points ahead of Minnesota State and three clear of the Gophers. SCSU has played two less games than Omaha and Mankato.
