14AA Blue Sox Take State Championship

The 14AA St. Cloud Blue Sox took the Gopher State Tournament of Champions over the weekend in Brooklyn Park. The team is the first in the Blue Sox organization to take the annual tournament.

The Blue Sox defeated Shoreview (2-1), Champlin (15-3) and Eastview (4-2) in pool play to advance to the elimination round.

St. Cloud topped Chisago Lakes 2-1 in the early-morning opener on Sunday before topping Edina Gold 10-0 in the semifinal. The Sox capped the tournament by shutting out Minneapolis Blue 11-0 for the crown.

The 14AA Blue Sox are currently 45-2 on the season and will be honored by the Twins in a pregame ceremony September 20th at Target Field.
